Tom Katis is both an experienced business executive and decorated combat veteran of the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets). During his military service, Tom earned the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman’s badge.
As a co-founder of Triple Canopy, Tom applied his business and corporate development expertise to create one of the industry’s most successful start-ups. An influential part of the team that redefined security standards for the industry, he was responsible for raising capital, directing the corporate mission and strategy, as well as overseeing all marketing and business development functions. Now serving on the board of directors, Tom provides guidance and oversight on corporate development, strategy, marketing and public affairs.
Before launching Triple Canopy, Tom was a vice president at Citigroup, where he helped stand up its e-commerce business unit. He also served as a vice president at technology start-up Netcentives. Tom is currently the chief executive officer at RebelVox, a communications company. After 9/11, Tom put his business career on hold to re-enlist in the Army. He returned to active duty with a Special Forces team and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2002 and 2003. Tom is a graduate of Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in ethics, politics and economics.
