Herndon, VA — January 10, 2006 — Triple Canopy, Inc., a security solutions company, today announced
that Alan C. Ptak has been appointed Senior Vice President of Strategic Development and is responsible for directing global marketing,
new business development and government relations.

"With more than 35 years of technical, operational and government relations experience, his leadership and guidance are invaluable as we continue to grow and diversify the company."
Formerly, Senior Vice President of Government Relations, Mr. Ptak managed Triple Canopy's relationships with government agencies and directed the company's media relations program. In his newly defined role, he will continue to oversee these programs, while directing marketing strategy and business development diversification.
Mr. Ptak previously worked for BT Federal as Chairman of the Board and CEO. He was also a partner at IBM Business Consulting Services and a Vice President at Lockheed Martin Corporation.
During his distinguished career, Mr. Ptak held senior positions within the U.S. government including Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense. He also served as Minority Staff Director for the Senate Veterans Committee and Deputy Staff Director for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Mr. Ptak's career began in the U.S. Navy, where he served nine years of active duty and 12 years of reserve duty, earning several decorations and awards including the Navy Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and an Intelligence Community Award. Mr. Ptak earned a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and completed the national security course at Harvard University's JFK School of Government.
